Laura is the Lead Formulations chemist at the Department of Chemistry at Emory University under the supervision of Dr. Dennis Liotta.
Laura received her Master Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Turin (Italy) in collaboration with DSM Nutritional Product (Basel, Switzerland) and her PhD in Organic Chemistry from University of Turin (Italy) in collaboration with Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA – US) and Bracco Imaging S.p.A (Colleretto Giacosa, Turin – IT).
Laura learned biological and biomedical engineering skills during her first postdoc at the Georgia Institute of Technology where she became the lead formulation chemist of many projects, including 30M$ DARPA PREPARE funded ThIRM grant to deliver mRNA to lungs. Her efforts let her lab secured funds also from Bill&Melinda Gates foundation for the development of flu vaccines.
During her second postdoc at Emory University, she is developing a new platform of polymeric nanoformulations to target multiple organs focusing on lungs and skin.
