Dr. Jyothi Menon is an Associate Professor of Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and Chemical Engineering at the University of Rhode Island. She received her Master’s and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the joint program between the University of Texas (UT) Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas and UT Arlington in 2010 and 2014 respectively. She then joined the University of Oxford, UK where she worked as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop nanoparticles for targeted radiotherapy. She joined the University of Rhode Island in 2017, and her current research focus is on developing inhalable nanoparticle-based targeted drug delivery formulations to treat pulmonary disorders including lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis and COPD. Her group also develops tissue-engineered disease models of the lungs and liver for in vitro screening of new therapies.
