John Patton

John is an entrepreneur and drug delivery scientist with extensive experience in the biotech industry and the development of new inhaled medications. Within the inhalation field, after leading the drug delivery team at Genentech (1985-1990) where he helped pioneer inhaled biologics, he founded/co-founded 4 inhalation companies: Inhale/Nektar Therapeutics in 1990, the recipient of the Wall Street Journal’s Medical Innovation of the year in 2006 for Exubera, the first FDA-approved inhaled Insulin; Dance Biopharm (now Aerami Therapeutics) in 2009; InCarda Therapeutics in 2009; and iPharma Limited in 2016 (acquired by Kindeva in 2022). John has more than 110 publications and is (co)inventor of more than 50 patents.
