Michael Eakins

Michael is President and Principal Consultant at Eakins & Associates having held senior positions at Bracco S.p.A. and Bristol Myers Squibb. Eakins & Associates is a consulting company specializing in pharmaceutical primary packaging, especially glass defects, extractables and leachables from packaging components and single use systems. He has been a member of the USP Packaging and Distribution Expert Committee since 2005 with 15 years as Vice-Chair including for the 2020 – 2025 cycle. He has contributed to over 65 publications and to 6 US patents and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiology and Zoology and a Ph.D. in Physiology both from the University of London.
